Shivratri - 26/02/2006 |

Maha Shivaratri is celebrated throughout the
country. Maha Shivratri falls on the I3th (or I4th)
day of the dark half of 'Phalgun' (February-March).
The name means "the night of Shiva". The
ceremonies take place chiefly at night. This is a
festival observed in honour of Lord Shiva and it is
believed that on this day Lord Shiva was married to
Parvati. On this festival people worship 'Shiva -
the Destroyer'. This night marks the night when Lord
Shiva danced the 'Tandav'.
Shree Swaminarayan Temple Edgware will be
celebrating Maha Shivratri. The Pujan ceremony
will be conducted by a Brahmin and will take place
from 8:00am till 12:00 noon and then again from 3:00pm
to 8:00pm in the evening. All are welcome to join

Utsav – Saturday, 4 February 2006 |
|
Shreeji Maharaj first did a Saak Utsav in the
Village of Loya, where he had gone at the request
of Shree Sura Khachar and his wife Shantibai. He was
so overwhelmed by the sight of sumptuous looking Aubergines,
that he decided to organise a Saak Utsav festival.
Shreeji Maharaj himself did the Vagar for the Saak
with Ghee and Rich Spices. He himself lovingly served
it to the Sadhus that had accompanied him to Loya.
Never had such a delicious Saak been made before.
Along with the Saak was served Puri but nobody was
interested in eating the Puri. They were all just
interested in eating the Saak that Shreeji Maharaj
had made himself.
To celebrate this Utsav, please join us in the evening
for Darshan, Aarti and Prasad Bhojan of Ringar nu
Saak and Bajra na Rotla |
